Storyline   
Season One   
Season One starts a month after Danny gets his powers, and he still doesn't have control. In the first episode, he has his first two fights ever, versus a pair of octopus ghosts and versus the Lunch Lady. After that, Danny has a number of fairly episodic adventures, meeting Skulker, Technus, and Desiree, before running into Vlad at his parents’ college reunion. It’s then revealed that Vlad sent the Ectopusses and Skulker to try to kill Jack, and that the reunion is an attempt to win over Maddie. Vlad discovers Danny’s dual identit DP Overview, Part II

Danny Phantom was a Nickelodeon cartoon created by Butch Hartman (Fairly Odd Parents). It ran for three seasons between 2004 and 2007.  
 
The show follows Danny Phantom, a.k.a. Danny Fenton, a teen who gains ghost powers (more on those in a sec) and uses them to protect his town from paranormal invasion. The show is intelligent and layered, with good writing and a lot of jokes and references that the target audience, kids between seven and nine, won’t necessarily understand—like the one to Star Trek. It also sends up the superhero aspect fairly frequently.

Coastal SceneI am sitting on a pine log about three feet in diameter and four feet long. It is bleached white and almost smooth to the touch. I can see the scalloping of the grain; there is no bark. Similar logs, most long, some with sections of bark still attached, lie on the beach all around me. Beneath my feet are twigs, leaves, fragments of bark, and the occasional stone, scattered over fine, moist, brown-grey sand. The sand ends at a particularly large piece of driftwood—a tree trunk with the branches shorn off but retaining its roots. On WarThe villas in East Germany are still in ruins sixty-two years after the fact. The Russian-controlled government left them to rot, half-collapsed and bombed, as a reminder of where things had been. At least, that’s what people in Germany say today. They also say that you could build a giant box of concrete and steel and call it an apartment building able to house hundreds of people for the same price (or less) as fixing up a village. The Russians chose concrete over plaster.

Very cool SF webzine

Crossed Genres is a monthly sci-fi and fantasy zine that I stumbled across by accident a few months ago. They publish in print, pdf, and prc formats, and they sell the issues for very good prices ($9.99 is a year's subscription, for instance). Every issue combines science fiction and fantasy with some other genre—horror, romance, crime, LGBT, and so on. It's like crossover fic, but different! Someday I'd like to submit to them, because the combination idea sounds fun and right up my alley.

Unfortunately, they're kind of broke. The editors are sinking way more money into the zine than they're getting back, and if things don't change, they're going to fold. :( So they're asking for people to pimp them, buy issues, subscribe, whatever. But especially pimp, because they're sure that somebody on the internet will know somebody famous who'll pimp them to the world. Hey, it could happen, right? :love:

Consider this my pimpage. Anyone else feel like doing so? Or subscribing to them, for that matter? :poke: :innocent:

I'm first and foremost a geek (also a nerd, also a dork). My tastes in fandoms include space and time travel, history, superpowers/magic, aliens, the paranormal, and quirkiness, which means that I enjoy a range of things from Doctor Who to Firefly to Danny Phantom to CSI to Supernatural. I'm a sucker for crossovers, revelations, outsider POV, and crackfic. I've drifted out of writing fic, but I still read a lot of it.

In reality, I'm a twenty-something working in a bookstore and editing/rewriting a novel which I'm hoping to have done by the end of the year. I probably won't, though. ^^; I read a lot, eat too much chocolate, listen to classic rock, jazz, and classical music, and enjoy doing my own thing.

I'm not a fan of being bossed around, talked down to, shoved into social situations, or trash-talked. That probably shouldn't surprise anyone. ;)
